In the late summer of 1993 a meeting of parents agreed to form a new Scout
Group under the Baden-Powell Scouts Association to provide traditional
Scouting for their children. Subsequent meetings agreed the name of the
group as "Blackwater Valley Scout Group" and the 'three counties' badge
design was devised representing the three counties of Surrey, Hampshire and
Berkshire and including the 'Coot' emblem of the Blackwater valley with kind
permission from the local council environmental initiative team.
